Our Story
A workshop built around the watch, not the clock.
Pendula was established in Pattaya to offer watchmaking that takes its time — measured assessment, considered work, honest communication.
Back to HomeWho We Are
Pendula, Pattaya
Pendula opened on Beach Road after years of working in watch repair in Bangkok and, before that, several seasons spent training alongside a retired Swiss movement restorer in Chiang Rai. The name comes from the pendulum — the part of a mechanical movement that sets the pace of everything else. It felt like a fair description of what we try to do: keep things measured and steady.
The workshop handles three types of work. Bench servicing covers quartz and mechanical watches that need cleaning, lubrication or a basic timing check. Case and crystal renewal addresses the cosmetic side — polishing, crystal replacement and bracelet work. Keepsake restoration is for vintage and family pieces that deserve a full project: movement service, gentle cosmetic attention and a written record of everything done.
Every job starts with an assessment. We look at the watch, explain what we find and agree on what to do before any tools are lifted. That conversation matters as much as the work itself.
Mission
What we stand for
Transparency in every step
Nothing extra is added without discussion. Prices are set out in advance and any new findings during assessment are shared before work continues.
Documentation as a habit
We write things down. Every service produces a short condition note; restorations receive photographs and a project record the owner can keep alongside the watch.
Taking the time it needs
A rushed service can cause more problems than it solves. We work to realistic timelines and keep owners informed rather than pushing for quick turnarounds.

Standards
How we work
These are the practices we follow on every job — from a simple quartz service to a multi-week restoration.
Assessment before action
Every watch receives a bench inspection before any service begins. Findings are written down and shared with the owner before work proceeds.
Timing verification
Mechanical watches are checked on a timing machine after service to confirm the movement is running within an appropriate tolerance for its calibre.
Correct lubricants used
Different parts of a movement require different lubricants. We use calibre-appropriate oils and greases, applied in the right places and quantities.
Parts through known channels
Replacement parts — crowns, crystals, gaskets, movement components — are sourced through established watch parts suppliers. No substitutions without agreement.
Secure watch handling
Watches are held in a secure storage area when not on the bench and are only handled by the person assigned to that job. We keep a handover log for each piece.
Photographic records on restorations
Keepsake restoration projects are photographed at key stages — before work, during disassembly and after completion — providing the owner with a lasting reference.
Craft & Experience
What makes watchmaking different
A mechanical watch movement contains dozens of individual parts — wheels, pinions, jewels, springs — working together within tolerances measured in hundredths of a millimetre. Servicing one well requires the right tools, the right lubricants in the right amounts and the patience to work methodically through each component.
At Pendula, we approach each job as a distinct project. The watch that arrives for a simple battery change gets the same careful look as the vintage piece booked in for restoration. Both deserve to leave in better condition than they arrived.
Based in Pattaya
Serving Pattaya and the Eastern Seaboard
Our workshop on Beach Road is open six days a week. Many clients drop in while passing through; others bring watches that have been waiting for attention for years. Visitors to Pattaya sometimes carry a watch in their bag specifically to leave with us — a practical stop on a longer trip.
We also see pieces from Rayong, Chonburi and Bangkok brought by people who prefer to speak directly with the person doing the work rather than leaving a watch at a counter. That directness suits us too.
